Over the last 10 years, the world has evolved drastically in the way information is acquired and disseminated. Institutions, educators and students have begun to adapt to these new ways of communicating, which allow for real-time transfer of information and data. It seems archaic when we think about accessing information via card catalogs at the library, or spending numerous hours searching for information in journals and encyclopedias. We live in a world today in which we have immediate access to research, reports and case studies via the web.
Today, there is a new generation of student, a new way of learning which requires more advanced skills, necessary to be competitive in today’s time.
Are students developing those essential skills? Are educators taking advantage of these newly acquired skills? Are are we building strategies to integrate social media into our learning process?
