Clayton McDonnell, Chief Operating Officer

Clayton McDonnell brings over 15 years of experience in entrepreneurial ventures, small business management, client relations, and partnership development. In his role as Executive Vice President for MAXJAZZ, a Grammy-nominated independent record label, Clayton managed all label operations including A&R initiatives, product design, manufacturing, global distribution, strategic licensing, event planning, marketing and public relations for the label. He directed new release initiatives for over 50 of the label’s nationally-charting vocal and instrumental recordings. Clayton has planned and executed numerous release events and label showcases with nationally-recognized institutions and venues including The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Jazz at Lincoln Center, Yoshi’s at Jack London Square, Jazz St. Louis and Jazz Standard. His leadership led to exponential growth and the eventual sale of the label’s catalog to Mack Avenue Records.

Previously, Clayton spent several years in Atlanta, GA working in the brand marketing division of Ketchum Public Relations where he helped create and implement nationwide publicity and communications programs for Fortune 500 clients including The Clorox Company, Delta Airlines and Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corporation.

Clayton received his BA from New York University. He is pursuing a Master of Arts in Music Business from Berklee College of Music.
