O.N.E. the Duo
About
O.N.E The Duo is a Nashville-based duo comprised of music royalty: Tekitha, known for her work as the female voice of the Wu-Tang Clan, and Prana Supreme Diggs, her daughter with RZA, Wu-Tang’s founder, producer, and de-facto leader. Their unique sound is borne out of the music that inspires them, which includes Country, Americana, Motown, Rock, R&B, and Hip-Hop. O.N.E The Duo is inspired by a wide range of musical influences from Fleetwood Mac and Chris Stapleton to Motown, creating a signature roots-soul sound that sets them apart in the Country-Americana world.

The pair have a long history in the music industry. Tekitha performed on the hit album Wu-Tang Forever, made a guest appearance on Raekwon’s The Lex Diamond Story, and broke out her rap skills for RZA’s “Mantis” and Cappadonna’s “Pump Your Fist.” She has also collaborated with KRS-One and Armand Van Helden. In 2010, she released The Prelude, her debut album.

Growing up surrounded by musicians, Prana started making her own music at the age of three. Throughout her childhood, she was heavily influenced by her favorite rock bands such as Queens of the Stone Age and System of a Down. With their love of music and incredibly close bond, it was inevitable that Prana and her mother would form a musical duo — and the two came together as O.N.E The Duo (O.N.E stands for Observant, Noetic, and Effervescent).

“When I was a kid, my mom used to host these big jam session parties at our house,” Prana said. “It was probably one of the highlights of my childhood, getting to hang out with all these singers, musicians, rappers, poets, etc. Usually, at these jams, Mom and I would freestyle a song together — and it was the morning after one of these jam parties that the idea of us singing and writing our own songs together came to my mind.”
