Visionary Media Group launches record label affiliate, Visionary Records, with highly acclaimed artist Kree Harrison
The Nashville-based singer, songwriter, and runner-up on the twelfth season of American Idol will release her album in late 2018.
Visionary Media Group (VMG) is pleased to announce the signing of Kree Harrison to its brand new record label affiliate Visionary Records. The highly acclaimed and renowned country music artist signed an exclusive recording and publishing agreement, and will release her Visionary Records debut album in late 2018.
Harrison has collaborated with many of music’s biggest artists including Keith Urban, Little Big Town, Delbert McClinton, Kacey Musgraves and Wynonna Judd among others. She experienced initial breakout success in 2013 when she was the runner up on season 12 of American Idol. Harrison’s talent both as a songwriter and vocalist is widely known throughout Nashville and nation-wide, and she is poised to make 2018 a breakout year for her artistically.
Born in Woodville, Texas, Harrison began singing and writing her own songs at an early age. She sang for churches, rodeos, weddings, and competitions. At age eight, she opened for R&B performer Percy Sledge. At age nine, she won “Artist of the Year” from Kirbyville Playhouse, and at age ten, she sang on The Rosie O’Donnell Show and was invited back to perform on three separate occasions. Harrison scored a development deal with Lyric Street Records at age ten, which resulted in her family moving from Woodville to Nashville.
Harrison began writing her own songs at age fourteen, often finding herself in sessions with Nashville’s hit writers. At age sixteen, Harrison landed her first publishing deal with Crysalis Records. She performed across local venues in Nashville including the legendary Bluebird Café and regularly at the Grand Ole Opry, as well as BMI showcases in Florida such as the Key West Songwriters Festival and the Sandestin Music Festival. She also sang backup vocals on Kacey Musgraves’ album, “Same Trailer Different Park,” and Eli Young Band’s album, “Life At Best.”

Harrison gained more national recognition when she competed in season 12 of American Idol, in which she finished runner up in the finale to an audience of over 14 million viewers. This exposure garnered her extensive critical acclaim and earned her new fans around the world. Harrison released her debut album, “This Old Thing,” in 2016. Rolling Stone said about the album: “[a]t the center of it all is Harrison’s mature, soulful vocal and lyrics about playing the familiar game of love. The lyric video captures Harrison and her band in the studio setting where ‘This Old Thing’ comes off as anything but routine.”

The company will utilize its access to various technology platforms and relationships across the diversified VPEG portfolio to further enhance the Kree Harrison brand.
